In June 2026, Zhejiang Zhijie New Materials Co., Ltd. was officially granted a national invention patent for its independently developed “High-Strength, Integrated, Recyclable, Environmentally Friendly Polypropylene Composite Fabric” (Patent Application No.: CN202610471806.1). The implementation of this technology marks a crucial step for Zhijie in the field of recyclable industrial textiles—transitioning from technical validation to the establishment of intellectual property rights—and provides a technically viable path toward industrialization to address the long-standing industry challenge of balancing performance and environmental sustainability in industrial textiles.

The core breakthrough of this patent lies in the fundamental restructuring of the material system.

Traditional industrial coated fabrics generally employ multi-material composite structures—materials with different chemical properties are forcibly bonded together. While this ensures performance, once the product reaches the end of its service life, the materials cannot be separated, making it difficult to integrate them into recycling systems; ultimately, they can only be landfilled or incinerated. Zhijie’s solution, however, rethinks the design from the ground up: a homogeneous, all-polypropylene structure—where the polypropylene substrate and the polypropylene film layer are made from the same material system—allowing the finished product to be directly melted and recycled after use. The downstream recycling process requires no sorting or delamination, greatly reducing recycling complexity and significantly lowering processing costs, thereby truly transforming “recycling” from a concept into an executable process.

In terms of performance, this patented material also stands up to scrutiny. According to third-party performance verification, its tensile strength and tear strength are on par with traditional materials, and it even surpasses them in certain metrics. At the same time, the material naturally possesses characteristics such as light weight, acid and alkali resistance, and aging resistance, making it widely applicable in various scenarios such as canopy materials, geomembranes, and industrial packaging. In other words: no compromise on performance, no compromise on recyclability.

The official granting of this invention patent marks a milestone in Zhijie New Materials’ commitment to a technology-driven development strategy. The company will continue to deepen its focus on three key technical areas—polypropylene material modification, composite process optimization, and green recyclability—to accelerate the transition of patented innovations into large-scale production. By providing downstream customers with composite fabric products that combine high performance with low environmental impact, the company is actively participating in and driving the green transformation and upgrading of the industrial textiles sector.

Through each patent and every meter of fabric, Zhijie is weaving the concept of “recyclability” into reality.
